The Intention
At SAGE, we believe that children are not too young to understand ESG, sustainability and money. They are exactly the right age. These experiences are designed by CA Shelly Monga — a practising Chartered Accountant, ESG advisor and social impact strategist — who knows that the habits of mind formed in childhood shape the decisions made in boardrooms.

Each experience is immersive, age-appropriate and curated for small groups — so every child is engaged, not just present.

Three experiences
ESG — Environmental, Social and Governance — is the framework through which the world's businesses and institutions are beginning to measure their impact. Children who understand ESG early develop a lens that serves them in every domain of life. At SAGE, we make ESG tangible, local and real.
How does the Ganga connect to our choices? Water, air, carbon, biodiversity — experienced through Haridwar's own ecosystem.
Community, equity, inclusion. Who benefits? Who doesn't? Children explore social questions with real case studies from India.
Rules, responsibility, accountability. How organisations make decisions — and why it matters who is in the room.
Not a lecture. A guided discovery — through field activity, dialogue and a final reflection exercise.
The UN Sustainable Development Goals are not abstract. They describe the world children will inherit and the challenges they will need to solve. At SAGE, we introduce the 17 SDGs through the lens of Haridwar — a city where Goal 6 (Clean Water), Goal 11 (Sustainable Cities) and Goal 13 (Climate Action) are not textbook concepts but lived realities.
Each child leaves the session with one personal SDG commitment — something specific they can do, in their home, school or community, starting this week.
Most adults were never taught how money actually works. At SAGE, children encounter financial literacy as a life skill — not as arithmetic. Designed by CA Shelly Monga, whose work in financial literacy spans community programmes, NGOs and professional practice, this experience gives children a relationship with money that is thoughtful, confident and values-aligned.
Where it comes from, where it goes, and why some people have more than others. Age-appropriate, honest, and real.
The power of saving early. The meaning of giving generously. Children practise with real-world scenarios.
Trade-offs, priorities, values. Every financial decision reflects what we care about — children learn to notice that.

Why it matters
Giving them the frameworks to think about sustainability, equity and money — before the pressure of adult life arrives — is one of the most meaningful things we can offer. These are not extracurricular activities. They are foundational life skills, held in a space worthy of their importance.
